"Did you know bagged salad can contain levels of chlorine far higher than the average swimming pool? If you can't buy - or grow - chemical free salad ingredients, avoid the bagged stuff and opt for loose ingredients when you go shopping."
“We value everything that has to do with a green and clean environment, and chose ebode to work with us because we saw that they were involved already with projects that had a clear eco message, and felt that they would adhere to things that were important to us relating to our lifestyle and principles.
“Being able to walk through our home first on the CAD program was an eye opener – we could actually imagine how the house would look, and to be honest, after the whole process was finished, our home is the same as the little house on the computer program.
“There was a good process of talking to the staff at ebode and that took away a lot of stress because we didn’t have to be the project managers. Plus they also give you the idea that you can actually have a disagreement - they’re not going to run away from it. When there was a difference in ideas between us and ebode, we came straight into the middle and made a good decision.
“The end results have met our expectations 100, probably 200% and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Our friends and family have also commented on our new home, because they can see it’s a real house, and it’s a house that has all the values we have already put into place in our daily lives.”

“The design process was really easy because we found the people at ebode to be very relaxed, easy to talk to, open to listening to our ideas and quite relaxed in coming forward with their own ideas about how we could make things work. We didn’t feel intimidated at any stage – they were really easy to communicate with.
“We also liked the idea of working with 3D computer images. In fact, when it came time to building, a major part of the work was done, because we had such a clear image of what the finished product was going to look like from the computer model.
“Even though we knew what our home was going to look like, it’s absolutely wonderful to live in as well. It was cool and well ventilated through summer, and now as the season is changing we’re noticing how the light comes in and warms up the place during the day. For a small house it’s got a feeling of space, which we are really happy with – nothing feels cramped.
“We really like the way we interact with the environment the whole time we are in the house – when it’s absolutely raging outside, you’re very aware of the weather even though you are protected from it, and then on hot days, you open the place up and get tuis flying through the lounge. It’s also very flexible – nice and cosy for a couple, but equally you can have a whole extended family here and find room for everyone to bunk down.
“We think it’s a really classy, sharp, functional house, with excellent use of space, both indoors and out. It’s a home that invites you in to relax and live in comfort, and enjoy the beach without being shut away in the house. We’re absolutely ecstatic with the result.”
