Catherine McEntee has a Bachelor of Architecture from Auckland University majoring in New Zealand Architectural History and Sustainability. Frustrated by the purely academic approach of her degree program, she undertook her own building project on an isolated King Country site, gaining greater practical understanding of design integrity, construction and the issues surrounding sustainable ‘buildability’.

Catherine’s love of the landscape and the people has always been integral to her architectural thinking. whether it be through her involvement in the building or in her personal lifes interests (snow sports, tramping, gardening, opera singing - to name but a few) she strives to make decisions that support her environmental values.
